Welcome to the new 7-harad.nu

The online newspaper 7-harad.nu was established in 2002.

We encountered great difficulties when we tried to scrutinise peculiarities within Svenljunga municipality. In their eagerness to make it difficult for us, the municipality reported us to the The Swedish Data Protection Authority and sued us at the Borås district court. The Swedish Data Protection Authority dismissed the municipality's complain. The lawsuit case at the Borås district court was delayed for several years before the case was set for a main hearing. Even though the municipality spent the taxpayers' money on an attorney and we defended ourselves, the verdict went against the municipality.

The elected municipal politicians demonstratively turned their backs on us and the managers even signed a letter about how terrible we were, even though many of them had never come in contact with us.

The municipality also used its contacts in the media to create a media hype against us.

However, our investigative journalism was appreciated by some journalists who chose to stick to good journalistic ethics. Hallands Nyheter referred to our investigating journalism in the following article:
