Polling stations are open between 08.00 and 20.00.

After the voting has ended at 20:00 the votes begin to be counted in the polling station.

The election to the Parliament (Riksdagen) is counted first, then the election to the municipal council (Kommunfullmäktige) and finally the election to the regional council (Regionfullmäktige).

Preliminary election results are published the same night on val.se.
